Hi everyone, I am hoping to find answers here after having combed through several threads already I am looking to activate the Fonts DevanagariMT.ttf DevanagariMTBold.ttf to be available, mainly in Excel as for the complex Ligatures of this Indian script have never worked in Word anyway. I am on OSX 10.8.5, Office 2011 for Mac and have had compatibility issues in previous versions of office but got all fonts working in the end.
I have tried the following steps so far, to no avail: — removing duplicates using fontbook — placing them in different font folders on the mac (including the 'microsoft' font folder) — font nuke — rebuild microsoft font chache — dragged the fonts to the Microsoft list in fontbook the only devanagari font that has worked so far is the adobe devanagari sangam, which, unfortunately, is quite a revolting rendering of this beautiful script I'm afraid — I had to deactivate it so that my browsers and other apps use the Devanagari MT instead. In Excel the font never showed up in any list despite my trials above. Same applies for the Bengali Font Solaiman Lipi, which is the best rendered and original Bengali Font I found, named SOLAINO.ttf The 'Bangla MN' Font is almost as good and the only font Excel recognizes and provides. It is however a.ttc-Font and not.ttf any suggestions as to how I can get the Fonts to be accessible in Office 2011?? Again: they were supported in earlier versions of office and I was able to embed them into complex formulas within Excel!
