Speed is instantaneous and capacity is cavernous. Couple that with ease of installation and setup with a very fast delivery from the vendor, the whole experience was a delight from start to finish (minus the multi-thousand dollar price).
Let's see if this SSD goes the distance in duration and performance. I hope to report in several years that it still works correctly. I would recommend this item to a friend! This review is from.

Hard to get an 800GB photo catelog on a 500 GB drive. Found this option and problem solved. Watched the install video a couple times. Before the drive arrived. Everything was good.
Couldn’t get the monitor to be recognized until i moved it to Bus1. Then, all went perfect. And love that they provide the case to use the 500 as an external. A great feature.

This time I bought a 4TB SSD. It was easy to install, I had no major problems with restoring from Time Machine, and it runs great.
No more issues of running out of space. I would recommend this item to a friend! This review is from. Customer Videos. Verified Buyer Reviewer: owltech Location: Inman, SC Age: Over 65 Experience Level: IT Professional Owned Product: less than a month Rating: 5/5 SSD upgrade to my internal SSD (1TB to 4TB) July 30, 2017 The speed diff is amazing.
What an upgrade! There were some installation glitches, though.
A specified tool was a T8 Torx wrench, which did not appear to be in the kit. However, a standard T8 driver would NOT WORK! What would work, however, was the little L-shaped tool (T8 Torx) did the job. The small plastic bag contained the tool.
A standard T8 Torx driver did not fit the screw head on the Mac. Once we figured that out, the Mac submitted to disassembly. Trust me, the SSD is a SCREAMER (fast, fast, fast).

Verified Buyer Reviewer: mturch Location: Raleigh, NC Age: 25-34 Experience Level: Power User Owned Product: over 6 months Rating: 5/5 Great Upgrade April 7, 2017 I originally bought a 2013 Mac Pro, 3.7 GHz Quad-Core processor with 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB PCIe-based SSD, Dual AMD FirePro 300 graphics cards. From Apple, the maximum capacity hard drive that I could upgrade to was 1 TB for $1,000 at the time.
After taxes, etc. I ended up paying $1,379.99. Not bad getting an extra 1 TB for $379.99!!
It took minutes to install and it was extremely easy (coming from somebody who has never taken a computer apart - the only thing I had previously done was upgrade the RAM on a couple of computers). I also ended up upgrading the RAM on my Mac Pro to 64 GB and next I am planning to upgrade the processor at some point; then I will have a real power house on my hands!!! Verified Buyer Reviewer: DLangdon Location: Indiana Age: 45-54 Experience Level: Home User Owned Product: 1-3 months Rating: 4/5 Terrific product, but way too expensive. February 27, 2017 I purchased a 1.0 TB OWC Aura SSD for my 2013 MacPro.
I held off from buying this for a year or so waiting for the price to drop, but, as my Apple OEM was running out of space, I finally gave in and bought the MacSales.com drive upgrade. I have nothing but good things to say about the drive itself. It took me less than five minutes to install the drive, and the back-up restore process with the portable USB kit for the old drive was very simple. I would give this product five stars except that it is just so expensive compared to PC based solid-state drives.
(As an aside, if you have Office, Word, etc., be sure to locate you Microsoft Activation Key. While all of my other software transferred over seamlessly, my Office Suite, while it transferred over, can't be activated because I can't locate my Activation Key from 2013.
This seems absurd given that all of the other software transferred over to the new drive without a hitch.) I would recommend this item to a friend! This review is from. Customer Videos. Verified Buyer Reviewer: NowMacUser Location: Hawaii Age: 55-65 Experience Level: Power User Owned Product: less than a month Rating: 5/5 Great upgrade and easy to install January 16, 2017 Excellent product with a very fast boot up. Applications start faster than stock 1TB SSD. Easy install; 20 minutes from taking off the cover to boot up.
Envoy Pro Storage Solution was fast and easy to transfer my existing files to the new 4.0TB OWC Aura SSD. Comes with everything you need. I would recommend this item to a friend! This review is from. Customer Videos.

January 1, 2017 Bought 2 of these, unfortunately one of them was defective, a short chat with Macsales customer service, and I had a new one overnighted, and they picked up the shipping tab. Installed it and works perfectly. I would recommend this item to a friend!

I highly recommend purchasing a replacement drive for your mac. They have the best support. Next month it will be a memory upgrade for my mac pro.

Verified Buyer Reviewer: XDGuy Location: Huntington Beach CA Age: Over 65 Experience Level: Home User Owned Product: 5-6 months Rating: 5/5 Awsome August 30, 2016 I have a very large media library and the data base for my media server got to be too large for the standard 256g SSD card in my MacPro. I tried moving the file to an external drive and it was just not fast enough for my media server to access properly. I looked to the 1.OTB Aura SSD card and it is AWSOME, it solved my problem and actually sped up my MacPro. I would purchase this product again in a heartbeat.
Very easy installation, even a 67 year old duffer like me had it installed in 20 minutes I would recommend this item to a friend! This review is from. Customer Videos. Verified Buyer Reviewer: Anonymous Location: Stockton, CA Age: Over 65 Experience Level: Power User Owned Product: 1-3 months Rating: 5/5 Prolong the Life Span of your late 2013 MacPro July 4, 2016 I have been waiting for Apple to upgrade the late 2013 MacPro. Because it has not been forthcoming, and AppleCare is expiring later this year, I thought long and hard about updating the SSD internal storage on my MacPro.
I purchased the 4.0TB OWC Aura SSD for Mac Pro after viewing the installation video and determining that 'I can do that.' I also ordered the External Drive Housing, the Envoy Pro, in which to place my original Apple 1 TB SSD which contained all of my Data. OWC recommends you perform the upgrade on a static-free mat which they do not provide, nor do they offer one for sale.
I ordered it off Amazon. OWC should offer one. The OWC Aura SSD arrived as did the external Envoy Pro housing. Do not expect overnight delivery. It actually took three weeks for my order to arrive.
Anyway, it did come with the appropriate tools to complete the installation. Following the Installation Videos, I successfully removed and replaced my original Apple SSD with the OWC 4TB SSD without difficulty. The original Apple SSD went into the Envoy Pro housing kit. After placing everything back together, I booted up and transferred my entire computer installation from the original Apple SSD (in the Envoy Pro housing) to the newly installed OWC 4 TB SSD. OWC provides excellent instructions to accomplish this. During this data transfer process, however, I did call OWC Tech Support. Tech Support was promptly available, and quickly helped me complete my installation.
I find the 4.0TB OWC Aura SSD for Mac Pro to be faster than the original Apple 1 TB SSD. It has been trouble-free for the past month. I use the original apple 1 TB SSD in its Envoy Pro USB 3.0 housing with my MacBook Pro as a fast external storage solution. If I can do this, so can you. I highly recommend the 4.0TB OWC Aura SSD for Mac Pro. I would recommend this item to a friend!
This review is from. Verified Buyer Reviewer: Anonymous Location: Vancouver, BC Owned Product: less than a month Rating: 4/5 Now I can actually use my Mac Pro! May 31, 2016 Installation went as described in videos. Only one thing I noticed is that the copper heat sinks touch the cover case when I put it back on. I think the blue insulation blocks may have something to do with that.
Otherwise, everything else went well. The machine is running great and the Envoy works extremely fast with the old SSD drive in it. I would recommend this item to a friend! This review is from.
Verified Buyer Reviewer: Anonymous Location: Ontario, Canada Age: 45-54 Experience Level: Power User Owned Product: 1-3 months Rating: 5/5 Life saver and great alternate to Apple's limitations. February 28, 2016 The Aura has been a workflow lifesaver. I cheaper out on the purchase of the Mac Pro and bought it with a 256gb flash drive. Turns out the user needed way more than that! The Aura has solved our problems and has been working great. Easy to install even for a novice. Great video tutorial and printed instructions.
I had a couple fails to start the first week but nothing since, customer support said to contact them if the issue persists but it hasn't. (2 months in use now) Love the product and have been hooked on OWC product since. I would recommend this item to a friend! This review is from. Verified Buyer Reviewer: Anonymous Location: Cincinnati, OH Age: 25-34 Experience Level: Power User Owned Product: 1-3 months Rating: 5/5 Great upgrade for 'garbage can' Mac Pro February 7, 2016 As an editor, got this HD upgrade so that I can edit my FCPX projects directly off of the internal drive. Was super easy to install via the provided directions, migration had no issues, and the new bigger drive works perfectly and was instantly recognized by OS X. This was a much needed upgrade and it has worked flawlessly since being installed.
Speeds up rendering and workflow for my projects. Can't say enough great things about it; plus I have a new external flash hard drive! I would recommend this item to a friend! This review is from. Verified Buyer Reviewer: Anonymous Location: Wolfenbuettel, Lower Saxony Age: 55-65 Experience Level: IT Professional Owned Product: 1-3 months Rating: 5/5 4TB within the MacPro - runnin' even faster than before February 7, 2016 Installation: the installation guide is comprehensible - don't rely only on the photos of the 2 TB SSD: the additional mains connection of the 4TB SSD is now coded by the color of the wrappers of the eyelets, not the cable itself. The procedure: removal of the stock ssd, plug in of the 4TB TB, transplantation of the stock ssd into the tiny new enclosure - took less than 15 minutes: this says all.
The booting from newly formed usb-ssd took a little bit longer and the carbon copy cloning also takes some time but after that and booting from the built-in 4TB SSD everything Run: smooth - and even faster than before! Verified Buyer Top 250 Contributor Reviewer: Anonymous Location: MN Age: Over 65 Experience Level: Power User Owned Product: less than a month Rating: 5/5 Very helpful MacPro 2013 upgrade January 18, 2016 Original MP 2013 500 GB SSD was nearly full & beginning to affect performance.
The package from OWC included all necessary tools and accessory parts. On line video very well done and easy to follow. Exchange accomplished with minimal effort. I ordered the package with the external drive for the removed Apple SSD; was reassuring to have available to start the MacPro and transfer to new SSD. I would recommend this item to a friend!
