The term Rich used was just a little inaccurate:-) What he referred to is the Add to template check box located in the lower left corner of the Modify Style dialog window. If you create/modify a Style without ticking that box the version of the Style is saved only in the current document. If you do tick the box the update is made to the version of the Style stored in the Normal.dotm template, as well, so all future documents based on that template will include the same specifications. There's no need to open the Normal.dotm template file, itself, to make such a change.

Regarding the recreation of the NormalEmail.dotm file, after deleting it from the templates folder you will need to start Outlook (it then puts the new file into memory) then exit Outlook again (then it will save the new NormalEmail.dotm to the templates folder). Please continue in that same thread: Please note that if disabling linkCreation.dotm is the concern, there are other conversations on the issue which can be found by using that criteria in the Community Search field in the upper right corner of the page. As a guess, it isn't enough to clear the check in the Templates & Add-Ins dialog. That disables the add-in for only the current session. You also must select the item then click the minus button to remove the add-in or you need to navigate in Finder to location where it is stored then delete it from there. Also, if you're unable to locate the Group Containers folder it's most likely because you're looking in the wrong Library folder. There are several on a Mac.
